Markko Gadding Vine

February 28 , 2007

Yesterday  winter snow began to melt
            today daffodils' shoots show
Thank you for all the enuthiastic support and questions
With spring on the way, a new world awakes.  Thoughts turn
to pruning, and that trigger questions of vine and bud survival.
This year without extreme cold temperatures, expectations look good for
pruning at normal levels of 44 buds/vine or 3 tons per acre.

Tasting
Wines respond to seasonal changes much as people. You may
notice this when tasting bottles at different times of the year.
This goes with seasonal food; what's in the root cellar and  whether
to fast for Lent.  Wine has such versatility that it adapts to all
the changes in life, and can age with a glow.  Try the '02 or '03
Cabernet.  The first from a warmer than normal growing season,
the other from cooler one. The difference become dramatic,
but enjoyable for its individuality. You can let "The wine speak for itself".

To taste these wines at home, join the Fan Club for April and begin
getting samples to evaluate with your meals.
