News from the Vineyard: Blessing of the Vines
This year the traditional spring invocation falls on May 16 and everyone may join the gathering at 11 AM out by the vines.
This has been the time to share song and prayer for a safe and fruitful harvest. For over thirty years this annual ceremony always gives us time to reflect on spring and all the blessings of nature.
At 12:30 PM, Hil-Mak Seafoods prepares a Lake Erie Perch lunch for those who stay and make reservations. Cost for the lunch, including a bottle of '03 Homage Chardonnay per couple, will stay the same at $31 plus $4 glass deposit per person. Please make your reservation by May 14.
Jug Day, for those who bring their own, is your chance to get them filled from a barrel in the cellar. Taking a sample home has given many a reminder of the season and its renewing spirit. Cost $15 per gallon in your carboy/jug. |
